amazing colourful marbling

Few months ago I went to Turkey for the first time. I took part in a training course organized in Sakarya/Adapazarı which focused on handicrafts. The biggest highlight of the project was colourful (paper) marbling.

I’ve heard about this old art for the first time.  When we saw our trainers painting flowers on the water and using brushes to sprinkle the paint over it, we were comepletly mesmerized…  Patterns floating on plain water, being decorated according to one’s wishes… And then – within few seconds! – being transferred to paper and disappearing from a tray filled with water… something amazing!

Everyone had a chance to try it. I found it very interesting, relaxing, beautiful but very difficult, too. You have to be really skilled and concentrated to obtain a perfect picture. Luckily the trainers helped us with our marblings.
I painted a lilac tulip.
Absolutely loved it!
